Who We Are
Janet Wilson
Founder & CEO
I set up Singles Socials on Valentines day 2023; because of my own personal experience as a newly single person at the age of 55 years old. It was pretty damn hard. Most of my friends were in couples and I regularly found myself feeling like the odd one out at gatherings and events and let’s be honest, no one likes to play third wheel all the time! I hadn’t been single since the age of 16 and my how things had changed in the dating game.
There were now apps, and dating sites and no one really seemed to do dating the old fashioned face to face way anymore - not until they had used up a unhealthy amount of time via messaging or phone calls. I just wanted to get out and meet new people!
I now work full time in the business, with my key roles still being the first person you see when you walk through that door, as I still remember what that feels like.
I am also an accredited matchmaker and do all the personal matchmaking at Next Chapter dating.
I still love meeting new people and hope to meet you at an event soon...
Pete
Jan's Partner and Rock!
Pete is Jan's go to person when she has a crazy idea for a new event or promotion. He is the support network that enables the wheels to turn and for Jan to focus on the business development when she needs to.
Pete will also be found helping Jan do the meeting and greeting at the smaller events. Pete is quiet and unassuming, preferring to stay out of the limelight that others might enjoy and just be a calming influence when needed. Pete is seen dead centre here chatting to some of the guys at our black Tie Ball in February.
Steph & Gemma
Event Co-Hosts
Both Steph and Gemma are long standing friends of Janet and when she launched the business were keen to help. In fact the idea for Singles Socials came about after a shared bottle of wine when Janet was single and was looking to get out and meet new people, but nothing was going on locally. They helped Janet Co-Host her first dinner and now step in and help Co-host any of the larger events.
Steph runs a large and successful livery yard in Norfolk, with her husband Barry, it's where Janet and Steph first met. Steph is a very warm and caring person and has such a friendly disposition, people warm to her instantly.
Gemma works from her home office and is a virtual assistant and excel spreadsheet geek. Gemma is a real fun people person and loves meeting everyone at the events. Gemma has ridden the online dating roller-coaster over the last 10 years so, so she says it's a pleasure to be part of the team helping like minded people connect in the real world.
